When to Replace
Toothbrush
Every 3-4 months
Bristles fray and lose effectiveness. The ADA recommends replacement every 3-4 months for optimal cleaning.
Replace sooner if
- Bristles are splayed or frayed
- After recovering from illness
- Bristles have lost their color indicator
Make it last
- Rinse thoroughly and store upright to air dry
- Keep at least 3 feet from toilet
- Replace just the head on electric toothbrushes
